Car air conditioning systems lose a small amount of refrigerant naturally over time through seals and hoses, which is why manufacturers recommend a 12-month service even when the system still feels reasonably cold. Left too long, low refrigerant makes the compressor work harder than it should, which can shorten its life and turn a simple re-gas into a much more expensive compressor replacement.

We can also convert older pre-1994 vehicles from R12 to R134a refrigerant.

My air con still feels cold — do I really need a service every year? +
Refrigerant loss is gradual, so cooling can feel fine even as the system runs on less gas than it should. Servicing yearly catches this early, before the compressor is put under extra strain.
Why does my air con smell musty when I turn it on? +
That smell is usually bacterial growth on the evaporator, which sits in a cold, damp environment. An anti-bacterial clean, along with a fresh cabin filter, resolves it.
